How Claude for Startups fits a model-agnostic platform

Cruq is in Anthropic's Claude for Startups program. Here is what it provides, how we use it, and why customers still choose their own models.

Cruq is in Anthropic's Claude for Startups program. Like our other supporters, it helps us build the platform without changing how customers use it: they still pick their own models and pay their own providers. Here is what the program provides and where it goes.

What the program provides

Anthropic lists these benefits for startups in the program:

  • A year of Claude Team for up to five people.
  • $1,000 in Claude API credits, with higher API rate limits.
  • Up to $45,000 in offers from partner companies.
  • Office hours with Anthropic's Applied AI team, and invitations to founder events and hackathons.

The full terms, and how to apply, are on the Claude for Startups page.

How we use it

Building the platform. Claude Team gives the founding team Claude for day-to-day work: writing and reviewing code, plans and documents.

Testing Claude models in Cruq. The API credits go on running Claude models through Cruq's own evals and agent features, such as the browser tool, so we know how they behave before a customer picks one.

Access to Anthropic's team. Office hours are where we can take agent design questions, like when an agent should stop and ask a person, to the people who build the models.

Customers still choose their models

Cruq is model-agnostic. A workspace connects its own provider keys and chooses the model for each agent, whether that is Claude, an open model on its own hardware, or anything else. The program supports our work. It does not decide what a customer runs, and customers' usage is billed to their own accounts, not to our credits.

Why it matters

Agents are only as good as the model behind them, and keeping up with fast-moving models takes testing time. The program gives us that time and a line to the people building Claude.
